Knowing the rough route the flypast was due to take, I wandered over to Shoreditch to photograph the flypast from a more unusual location.
Even though it is used for professional filming, the security guard refused to let me onto the roof of the NCP multi-story car park in Shoreditch, as his boss had apparently got annoyed about people using it to take photos of the skyline.
Boo, hiss.
So I ended up hanging around by a patch of derelict land, which lacking tall buildings meant I got more sky than usual for that part of town, albeit less sky than I had hoped for.

One Chinook and two Puma helicopters provided by Joint Helicopter Command from RAF Odiham and RAF Benson.

Great shots, thanks for sharing
Thanks – nice to see we weren’t too far out of formation!
IX(B) Sqn, RAF Marham
We were in Temple Square and had a great view of the fly past. Thanks to you we can now label our photographs with the correct name. However, there were two white planes that flew over before the red arrows-name please.
Hazel, The fifth element you mention consisted of two HS-125 provided by RAF Northolt.
Full details here.
Here’s a picture showing an example of the HS125s operated from RAF Northolt that featured as a pair in the Queen’s Birthday Flypast:
