Something that is always worth looking out for if you are in the area – a steam train will be taking a tour around London and Berkshire tomorrow afternoon.

Although steam train tours are not hugely unusual now, most London departures tend to be quite early in the morning. A chance for a lie-in and watch a steam train is somewhat rarer.

Sadly, at £350 per ticket, it is not possible to be ON the train (unless you are feeling rich), but you can stand to one side and watch it charge past with that characteristic sound and smell that makes most adults turn back into little kiddies – not to forget its effect on the kids – for a short while.

The Clan Line 35028 will leave Victoria Station at 12:25 and pass by the following stations (with estimated times where known).

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you
