Lots of buildings turned off their lights last night for an hour to mark the Earth Hour event – and although they were quite late, Tower Bridge eventually went dark – making them the most significant blob of blackness as seen from my flat.

Canary Wharf put on a good show of turning off lights – but the “funniest” participant was the Willis Building in the City which seemed to turn off its exterior lights, but someone inside the building evidently decided to turn on as many lights as possible on each office floor!

I was surprised that the London Eye didn’t go dark – as they are usually quite keen to jump onto any passing bandwagon that comes near them.
