When I was a teenager, it was seemingly impossible to turn on the commercial TV channels (both of them) in the evening without being exhorted to buy some lubricant for my (non-existent) motor car.
A very simple advert with the iconic stream of oil that had an instantly memorable theme tune.
What a pity the domination of television advertising by car lubricants has seemingly been replaced with an equal domination by adverts for car insurance instead.
