The hottest temperature recorded on earth?

The mens deoderant brand, Sure is currently running a campaign on the tube (and probably elsewhere) claiming that their anti-persperant has been proven to work at, and I quote - “58 degrees Celcius - the hottest temperature ever recorded on earth

Now I don’t know about you, but my domestic oven can exceed that - heck the kettle in the kitchen exceeds that on a very regular basis. Scientists have even momentarily created flashes of heat which are hotter than the surface of the sun.

I guess what they mean is that their test was at the hottest temperature ever recorded which was naturally occuring over a wide spread area.

Not quite the same thing - and yes, I know I am being a tedious pedant.
