Had the monthly events email from the City of London, and something jumped right out at me.

Mansion House is one of the most popular buildings during Open House London weekend and we are delighted to announce that regular weekly tours are now planned for members of the public. That means that from December access to this building and its treasures is going to be much easier – take a closer look.

Woo!

I have often wanted to go inside, but never got round to it – and now they will have tours. Alas, the tours are on Tuesday lunchtimes, so not absolutely easy for everyone – but it does ensure those who turn up will not be “random tourists”, but keen to visit the place.

The tours start on 2nd Dec – and the Lord Mayor will be at Mansion House on the opening day – and thereafter every Tuesday afternoon at 2pm for £6.

I’ve added them to the events calendar – but only listed it once per month so as to not overflow the calendar with events that recur every week (I am working on a solution to recurring events on the calendar).

I am actually quite excited about this addition to the London tour scene.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you

That is good news – I went to an event there earlier this year so saw some of it, but would love to do the full tour!
