Over half million stranded at China train station

Quirky News

A report on Reuters makes me wonder if British Rail (or whatever they are called this week) are not quite as incompetent as we tend to think they are.

Over half a million passengers could be left stranded at a railway station in south China on Monday ahead of the biggest holiday of the year after snow cut power to more than 136 trains, state media said.

I wonder if it was the wrong type of snow.

Can you imagine if that had happened in the UK – an outcry or just a very British shrug of the shoulders and a mutter under the breath?
