Today (Sunday) was the annual “full closure” of the Thames Barrier, so I wandered along to Barrier Park on the north side to take some photos, and have a look at the park which I had read about but never been to.

A very impressive little park – with an award wining layout, and the barrier was equally wonderful, although it would be really great if they could take small boats up close to the barrier so people could get close up photos. There is also an underground tunnel which runs under the barrier carrying services, and it would be great one day to be able to walk from one side of the river to the other along the tunnel ;)

A few photos at Flickr.
