CCTV’s cause UK’s Obesity epidemic

Quirky News

Consider two seemingly unrelated issues:

A combination of CCTVs, biometrics, databases and tracking technologies has resulted in Britain becoming the most spied on nation in the world, according to a government privacy watchdog.

and….

British health officials claim obesity in UK should be confronted with professionalism as a recent survey indicated Brits are Europe’s fattest citizens.

Now, as every lady will know, the camera adds 10 pounds to your weight.

Logically, it is now obvious that the expansion of the use of CCTVs in the UK is the direct cause of the expansion of waistlines in the UK.

Eliminate the CCTVs and solve the obesity epidemic.

Obvious really.

A “silent” passenger plane

Science

A radically redesigned passenger jet could alleviate a major complaint of people who live near major airports–the deafening sound of planes taking off and landing.

A team of 40 researchers from Cambridge University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology spent three years working on the wide, streamlined jet, which they plan to unveil in London on Monday.

The “silent jet,” which from outside an airport would sound about as noisy as a washing machine or other household appliance, would carry 215 passengers and could be in the air by 2030.

The funny text anti-spam thingy was a tad unreliable and difficult to read.

I managed to find a much better one based on ye olde mathematics - yay.

Should make commenting on here a lot easier in future.

Thanks
